Big Fun

Although I ran a snail's pace of 11:55/mi. (2 hrs, 36 minutes total), I met my goal of running comfortably, without getting hurt, and without stopping to walk. Yay! S.B. had an awesome time (1 hour, 55 min.), and I'm over-the-moon proud of him. The day was full on sunny and warm, and the trail ran through one of the city's prettiest residential neighborhoods before heading out to the trail along the river.

Best of all?

Pannnnnnnncaaaaaaaaakes!

No, I don't run exclusively so that I can stuff my face afterward. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I could run a mile in 11:55. Emphasis on the 4th word.

Congrats! Hope you sent back that Euro-Style under-cooked bacon!

CONGRATULATIONS!
That is a much smaller stack of griddlecakes than I was expecting.
Kudos to you and SB both for doing this half-thon in such good times without injury, without walking, ... without dropping in your tracks :-) You should definitely have more cake.

Troll: Euro-style? Bwahahahahaha! I never heard it called that. Yeah, I'm a floppy bacon person.

Boxer: I usually don't do the nails on my hands – too much typing. But for special occasions, I break out that particular bling.

Pirate: Coming from the bad ass who just ran 31 miles in 7 hours, that means oodles.

Fishy: There were two of them. They were a half inch thick and 10" inches in diameter, so S.B. and I shared. He didn't finish his. He is obviously NOT an original member of the Clean Plate Club :o)

K9: I know! I don't see the problem with floppy bacon. It's still pork fat, right?

I don't think I could run 130 yards let alone 13 miles. Well done and pancakes well deserved.

Mmmmm, bacon! Nice work baby! Looks like you lost your head in the race though!

Yay!

That is all.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with floppy bacon...as long as it's not floppy turkey bacon which is no bacon at all.

MUCH CONTRACTS on your race time and the nail polish. Is there different polish for different races?

Big Shamu said...

OK that was supposed to be contrats. I hate Monday Mornings.

Good afternoon Moi,

Congratulations! That's not a bad time for your first one. Better to set a good pace and finish unhurt than to overdo it and pull something.

That bacon looks fine, it didn't Oink when you put the fork in, did it?

Chickory: Aw, I hate that you were feeling blue. I'm glad my roosters could bring you some cheer, though. Now that it's getting cooler, I'm going to get back on some projects. Hope today is a BETTER day.

WTWA: Yeah, it's always getting away from me. Running around where it shouldn't, poking itself in other people's business, flapping its mouth off about this or that. Stupid head.

Gnome: Wow, nothing snarky about the bacon? Oh, I know why. 'Cause you B Eye-talian, too, and know that it is a-oh-tay to eat floppy bacon!

Shamu: Turkey bacon. Shiver. Blech. Yew.

Karl: Well, there ARE meats I prefer not to eat raw, and bacon is one of 'em!

Hoo RAY!!!! I thought of you all day Sunday! My cousin in Detroit ran a half marathon for the Detroit Free Press (which included going over the bridge to Canada) for the first time on Sunday too. I was so proud of both of you! What commitment!

It must have felt awesome and kudos to S.B. too! What a nice thing to share between you.

Cuz told me she was starving after the race too and went to MacDonalds to get something quick as they were so hungry. I'm guessing that's why you had the pancakes?

Congrats on a job well done, Moi! xxx

Oh, does this mean you can now partake in my sweet cherry bourbon for cherry whiskey sours?! heehee!

That is awesome!!! I run half marathons solely for the beer and food afterward. There's nothing wrong with that!
