Oh! I love that head. Magnificent shape. You what they say, there aren't bad dogs, just bad owners. In this case I'd add; bad breeding. Great haiku. GREAT photo. Happy Haiku Monday.
Always wanted one of those but they never come up for rescue.
Boxer: I've met a lot of bull terriers and they've all been pretty jolly. They're one of my top 3 or 4 favorite breeds.
Curm: Nope, and if they do, they're scooped up in an instant. When I was volunteering at our local shelter, one was snagged wandering the streets. A little girl, fawn-colored, about three years old, very lively, engaged, and sweet. Bandana and a collar but no tags. We all held our breath when she was scanned for a chip because we were going to fight each other to take her home. Sure enough, she had an owner. Then we spent the day holding our breath that they wouldn't come for her. No such luck.
Nice haiku. Never really thought about their head-shape.
Troll: Yes, they're nicknamed "eggheads." Coupled with those beady widdle eyes, they can look a little, well, "special," but they're actually very intelligent, if typically willful.
Tough little eggs these dogs!

I've never heard a Bull Terrier being called an egghead before. When you put it together it makes sence for your haiku.
handsome animal. and so at ease. terrific haiku too - would make the best copy for a cool PSA poster. HHM moi!
Karl: Some of the dogs are more ovoid than others, but they all look eggy to some extent.

It's always so sad to see how humans use the majestic, raw power of these incredible animals for their own gain, then blame the damn dog.
My neighbor rescued a Pit, and he is one of the best dogs I have ever met. Not a mean bone in it's muscle bound body! When my miss fattie pants gets a bit too rambunctious, Budda just gives her a look...game over! Not from fear, but respect...she totally crushes on this dog.
I agree with Chickory, it would make a GREAT poster!

Many pit bulls play well with others. Many do not. Just like any other breed . . . Sigh. It would be nice if they were respected as such.

Miss Fattie Pants isn't her real name...I'm not THAT gay! I just call her (Maggie) that because of her love of food...and she's got a bit of a dumper on her back half.

P.S. I also threaten to eat her on occasion. I'm not Asian, but I hear tell from a reliable source that small, black dogs are most delicious...and coveted as a delicacy!!!
Rafe: :o) My Border Collie, Maddie, has a bit of a rump as well. We work her continuously, but her rear remains Rubenesque. I know the feeling . . .
