Not a fan of GB. I make more sense after a double shift at happy hour. Not a compliment.

He is a buffoon. Too bad, cause some of his major points--ALL borrowed from brilliant OTHER minds ( Hayek, fer example)--are important points:

limited gubmint
constitutional fidelity

make sense--but who can hear it through all that bufoonery?? The guy is a class A jerk--an' I suspect, a shill.

Hmmm. That looks REMARKABLY like a photo I'm posting Friday....

what everyone else said and ditto to the hole in the head.

Someone, anyone...explain his appeal? Better yet, explain why laying down hard earned cash for anything he produces?

DETEST his format and his delivery.
Often I AGREE with his core message re: " stand up!"

It is just head shaking tragic this man gets attention when those who deliver important info in a more judicious format are never "worthy" or broadcasting.

Mania , on either side of your beliefs, is always a bad scenario.

naw it ain't Fishy,it ain't no tragedy, it is deliberate--a way to make his core points seem stoopid, because, hey, the delivery boy is stoopid. He's a shill fer the cabal

LaDiva: In the time of chimpanzees I was a monkey. Butane in my veins and I’m out to cut the junkie.

Milk River: With the plastic eyeballs, spray-paint the vegetables. Dog food stalls with the beefcake pantyhose.

Aunty: Kill the headlights and put it in neutral. Stock car flamin’ with a loser and the cruise control.

Heff: Baby’s in reno with the vitamin D. Got a couple of couches, sleep on the love-seat.

Boxer: Someone came sayin’ I’m insane to complain about a shotgun wedding and a stain on my shirt.

Shamu: Don’t believe everything that you breathe. You get a parking violation and a maggot on your sleeve.

Fishy: So shave your face with some mace in the dark. Savin’ all your food stamps and burnin’ down the trailer park.

Aunty: Yo. Cut it. He's a loser baby . . .

Most brilliant replies I have ever seen! Now I will be singing that song all night. Do you suppose they are related? (Beck/Beck) He makes me want to drink the beer (Becks)... okay, lame, but an attempt, eh? He is the public school version of the movement -- dumbed down to a 4th grade level. That's how I see it. But I go out of my way to not watch him very much. Actually have given up on most news-entertainment TV. And btw, after tonight's speech, do you think Keith Olbermann will be counting down the days from the time Obama said the COMBAT was over in Iraq? Because you know and I know and everyone else knows that the combat is going to continue. They will just call it something else. Olbermann is still counting down Bush's victory in Iraq speech, so I think this one by our Pres is fair game. And the Brit is stuck in Seattle tonight!

Oops nevermind previous comment re Seattle .. I meant to leave that over on Boxie's page. Sigh. Pain pills. Brain gone. Duh.

moi said...

La Diva The song was in your head all night, wasn't it?

Pam: Actually Beck's full name is Beck Hansen, so no chance of them being related. Last night the news was full of itself declaring THE END OF COMBAT IN IRAQ! Like you, I doubt it. The ability of our federal government to obfuscate and spin is the same as it ever was . . .

Pam said...

Beck is a Hansen? No wonder he used his first name only ..... ;) Mmmbop.

Good afternoon Moi,

One of the benefits of not watching TV, I've never actually seen him. Although my perception of him from what I have a read. Is very close to Aunty Belle's first comment.

I'm still trying to figure out your first reply, but it did have kind of a neat toe tapping cadence to it.

Pam: I don't think so. Beck Hansen is one of a kind :o)

Karl: Probably my most favorite pop song of all time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgSPaXgAdzE&ob=av2e

first there was a fragile little rebellion - partly due to the Ron Paul revolution...and then the powers that be noticed the shift change; co-opted it, packaged it with "ordinary people just like us" and took the authentic and turned it into a disneyrevolution. sickening. more theatre - its all we get in america anymore.

nothing short of a real revolution will change anything. when we see the american sith lords hanging from ropes we will know change for real. until then, its all theater.

Chick9: Right-o. The Tea Party has not always been the Tea Baggers. Shame. Co-opted by thugs looking for their own form of power and control and swallowed whole by masses incapable of thinking beyond the first layer of their brains.

grrrrrrrrr said...

I think Beck's job is to take the tea baggers and return them back to the GOP in time to prevent the momentum of voting out all incumbents. its a nightmare.

i read a study recently that said the typical american has half the vocabulary of just a century ago. indeed when you read older work its astonishing in its richness. twittered, faced, plugged in, tuned out, docile, complacent and sick on GMO food is the situation. pit. i. ful

Grrrrrrr: I once read an anthology of WWII soldier's letters. Simple boys from simple homes. But such eloquent, beautifully written letters. We are losing our ability to deeply think and communicate at an alarming rate.

And, yes, the GOP don't want no renegades any more than the Demobrats do. Gotta keep the party line in line.

Karl said...

I would think that the Democrats are rooting for the Tea Party in the hopes that they split the Republican vote.

A century ago, we didn't have labor unions that are allowed to run and control school systems.
