What I'm Not Buying This Weekend

I don't know if it's a good sign or a bad one when you can't even find a box of handgun ammo at a Cabela's outside of Dallas, Texas. But I'm thinking: good.

Amen, sista! No ammo in Texas? Is it a sign? Thanks for playing so faithfully!

Moi - here in OK the ammo has been off the shelves ever since Obama won the democratic nomination. Every one went and bought it right up, fearing what ever his policy would be on firearms.

Actually, I went looking for some ammo for my Remington 870 this past April and couldn't find a box anywhere. I mean, anywhere. I was thoroughly pissed because I had big plans of bagging a turkey.

I can't even find very much reloading equipment to make my own. There are barely any guns on the shelves either. A guy at the local Bass Pro said their gun sales are up over 70% since Obama took office. Everything I have read into the plan says that the laws will only be placed on assault weapons - but I don't think many people believe it will be limited to just that.

I'm glad I have a good collection of essential rifles and shotguns, because I wouldn't want to pay what they are going for now. But I still can't find much ammo. It's annoying.

Is there something about to happen and I missed it? Is no ammo in Texas kinda like the grocery stores having a run on milk and toilet paper before a predicted snowstorm?

Margo: A sign, yes. One that says: "You shoulda bought stock in Smith & Wesson back in November, you dummy."

Boxer: Well, I guess one can always use a rifle as a club.

kmwthay: We have hundreds of turkey living in the open spaces behind our home. Come fall, their gobbles compete with the coyote for loudest animal sounds ringing in the hills and I regularly run into big ol' Toms leading his harem across the road. All I can think of at times like those is: dang it, there goes lunch for a year.

Shamu: You got it, sista.

It's bad in Troll County too. Some, perhaps all, ammo retailers are rationing supplies.

Anyone who thinks the Traitor-Democrat-Party-Of-Filth needs to pass a LAW to harass gun owners, manufacturers, and retailers doesn't understand how the system works.

The Obamanation has already unleashed an Alphabet Soup of unaccountable unelected bureaucrats to do it's bidding. It's difficult to be a cost-effect producer of Ammo when you're suddenly awash in bogus FDLA, OSHA and EEOC complaints.

Classic Chicago-Style Governance. If "Da Boss" doesn't like you and/or you're not contributing to his "campaign" coffers, you can count on your business being harassed.

Heck, in spite of the landmark Supreme Court ruling, democrat cops in Washington D.C. are STILL confiscating guns for no reason. The abused citizens CAN sue to get them back, of course. If they have big bucks for lawyers, and the time to battle an entrenched democrat bureaucracy. And IF they get lucky enough to have their case decided by a fair judge.

LAWS are not the whole story, folks.

The gun-endorsing edicts were for the days for the Pilgrim fathers and Cowboy days though surely.

It shouldn't still be the Wild West in America these days.

I had to sell off my guns not too long ago. An emotionaly handicaped child in the house makes it too risky to keep guns.
I even sold my wedding present...a custom high capacity 1911. Makes me sad that some other man is holding her.
