I knew the weird but good bookends and Clockwork. Wonder how much "A Boy and his Dog" cost to make?

If one of the others is "Blue Velvet", that was weird but good too.

Happy Mute Monday! Boycott Hollywood!

Awesome choices Moi, you can never have enough Brad Pitt. That 4th pic is the stuff nightmares are made off. Is that Chucky?

Happy MM!

I almost went with a Hollywood theme, but this is wayyyyy better than where I was going. :-)

Clockwork Orange! Fight Club!

I'm actually making a list of movies I would so love to see again based on this MM.

(Ignoring Troll! :-)

Have a great evening.

Here's an irony for you--while looking at your Mute Monday pics, I was *watching* Fight Club. Whoa! And in further irony, the *reason* I was watching Fight Club was so that I could avoid watching the Oscars.

All life is a circle, baby.

If we were to list all of the fantastic movies that were never recognized by the academy, we would be spending an awfull amount of time posting pictures on our blogs.

I wonder, has a Terry Gilliam movie ever won an Oscar???

All: Dang, I forgot all about Blue Velvet!

Wicked: A circle or a hamster wheel o:) You'll have to hit Moi with your impression of Fight Club on Friday.

nyd: No, I don't think so. But he's freakishly talented.

Meghan: I remember when it was the talk of the movie world when I was a kid. Certainly a weird one.

I think the only one of those I've seen is Clockwork.
I don't get out much.

Happy MM.

fight club is one of those movies that polarizes people - they love it or hate it (I'm in the luuuve category).

I wonder if that's how people felt about clockwork orange, back in the day?

Your MM is great. And...it is my duty to go around to all the bloggers that participate in MM to let them know that it is now Tuesday, almost Wednesday. :)

Oh, hey, is that first picture from 12 Monkeys?

Raven and Pirate: The first rule of Fight Club - we don't talk about how much we love the movie. Well, yes, we do. One of the all time great subversive films, evah.

Upset: And a mighty fine job yer doing of it, too :o)

Wicked: Yes. One of Moi's all time favorite movies, because it features: A. My third husband (Bruce Willis) and B. The only interesting performance by Brad Pitt, evah.

It's funny about Brad Pitt--I don't like him, don't think he's a good actor, but then when I (accidentally) see him in a movie, I like him. I just saw bits and pieces of Kalifornia over the weekend and learned that he can play creepy juuuuuust right. Ooh, I shudder just thinking about it. Must be his Oklahoma roots.

And what about Babel? I don't remember his performance being very interesting, but da-HANG, that was a good movie.

Wicked: Yes, I think you have hit upon the Mystery of the Pitt. Perhaps his celebrity casts such an annoyingly big shadow, we forget that he actually can act. Because, now, thinking about it, he was also great in Fight Club. And while I've seen neither flick yet, have heard he was stunning in Babel and that Jessie James thing.
