Movie Clip Wednesdays: Best Drunk Scene

Why, from one of my all-time favorite movies, of course:

Because when the going gets tough? Golightly.

Or, in the words of Bitter:Sweet:

Let's get nuts, let's spend some money.
Oh, oh! Take your shirt off, honey.

Let's freak out, life's just a party.
Oh, oh! Won't be sorry, Charlie.

Rose colored glasses seem to be the rage.
Oh, Mr. President, in bed with terrorists again?

"The Bomb"

If you wanna ~hic~ play, too, then post a 3 or so minute clip of your favorite video, head over to Hostess Miz Boxer's Place, let her know you're up, and then hop around to everyone else's blogs to see what they posted. Rose colored glasses optional. But drinks do help.

What a great pick. That woman in the mirror? Been there, done that. One of my worst drunks was at a local bar... I remember going into the Ladies Room and leaning into the mirror to look at my face. Oy!

I love the clothes and music in this clip and Breakfast at Tiffany's is a classic. Well done.

Happy MCW!

Just further proof I should have been of age in the swinging 60's. I crave this era. Happy MCW!

Anything with a glimpse of Audrey is pure gold. I haven't laughed at myself in the mirror like that, but I have some great discussions. The other chap is always so agreeable. Fance that.

Happy MCW!

The drunk in the mirror is pretty funny. Haven't seen this movie or read the book but I know George Peppard is gay from Seinfeld.

Happy MSW!

Boxer: Luckily, I've always been a giggly drunk. Too much tequila, though, and I get a wee bit mean. But never soppy or sad.

Princess:
Time rolls on,
And youth is gone,
And you can't straighten up when you bend.

But stiff back
Or stiff knees,
You stand straight at Tiffany's.
Diamonds are a girl's best friend.

Pam: It was an interesting time, wasn't it? And this movie is more than just its surface gloss; it deals with a lot of the socio-economic-cultural stuff that was beginning to bubble up at the time as well.

MRM: Audrey is my all-time favorite actress. Adore her completely. Drunk conversations are a lot like dreams.

Troll: See there, you do have some pop cultural savvy! The book is darker, but excellent nonetheless.

At first I thought this was Peter Seller's The Party, then I saw Ms Hepburn. Those 60s parties must have been something. I wonder who the guy standing on his head was?

Happy MCW!

K9: Maybe that's what heaven is; a party this fabulous. Only without cats :o)

Buzz: I don't know, but I'm sure he thought it was a great way to catch a glimpse up some of the gals' skirts.
