Oh girl, we were thinking similar thoughts, eh? Blue by Joni Mitchell was on my list to look for videos but figured I had used enough space. I had a few more on my list, we'll see if anyone else uses them before I post the list to my page. Happy MM! BTW, how much do i LOVE the Rolling Stones album pic? Only lots.

Very nice sub-theme. I like some of these artists. But I think Joan Jett would prolly choke you if she found out you liked Boston. Grrherhahhahahahahaha!

Happy Mute Monday!

Blowfish is a BlueTrain/Coltrane man.
I have never much been into the blues....great use of the theme though and Happy Monday.

Love that album. And there's nothing wrong with Boston although Third Stage was not their best effort. I like your blue album concept.

Happy MM!

I should have known you'd go for blue music. Boston! Oh, that reminds me of college. And not in a bad way. But honestly? I really thought they died after their second album. My bad.

Great mute. Happy MM!

Hi doll! So, although my preferred Weezer album is the Green album, the Blue one will do me just fine anytime. But MY favorite of your group is The Cranberries. Handsdown. It's one of my most favorite albums of anyone, ever. Happy MM!

Half of those are on my hard drive.
I'll look up the other half.

Coltrane? One of your favorite blue musics? Moi, you've been holding out on me. Admittedly it's not his later move toward dissonance, but, quoting you back to yourself (I always hate it when people do that), "I just. Cannot. Get into. Jazz."

Remember these important words: "If it ain't true, it ain't jazz, and if it's true, it's the blues."

Pam: That Stone's album cover is a classic, for sure.

Troll: There's only one or two Boston songs I can stand – the rest of it is way too mechanical. Which makes sense, given they were all MIT grads.

Fishy: Actually, I dislike Jazz (see Czar's comment below). BUT, Coltrane in certain moods is . . . interesting. Plus, I love this album cover.

Buzz: "We're in the building where they make us grow and I'm frightened by the liquid engineers." Highly underrated, Mr. Numan. I have all his albums, plus imports, plus bootlegs.

Boxer: I have to admit: some of these album covers I like better than I like the music.

Kym: This Cranberries album cover is probably one of the best of the last ten years. I like their music, too. Now THERE's a voice for the revolution.

Aunty: I have burned a hole in this Ventures album. Surf guitar is go!

Cake: Thanks!

Gnome: I peg you for a Blue man for sure.

Czar: See my comment above. Yes. I simply cannot. Do. Jazz. Coltrane especially, but this particular album, it's kind of like peeling a sunburn.

Good afternoon Moi,

Some of these album covers are pretty neat, the one with the eye got my attention.

I had one of these albums, care to venture a guess as to which one?

Happy Mute Monday

I was with you right up until Boston. I had a roommate when I was young who love love loved Boston, and wore out at least one LP in my presence.

That's when I learned to hate them. Also Kansas, Chicago, Asia, and any other band whose name is comprised of single word City, State, or Country names.

That's my rule. I'm waiting to find the exception...

Karl: Hmmmm . . . Billie Holiday?

Pirate: Also of major suckage: Berlin, Miami Sound Machine, Little River Band, Linkin Park, Hiroshima, Bay City Rollers, and Ramstein. But not: Soundgarden and Nazareth. Love hurts.

Well, Moi darling, what a diverse taste in music you have! I have to tell a quick story: first date with DJ Nevah L8 4 Dinnah came to dinner at my house and was pawing through my cd collection and came upon Primus, Coltrane and Monster Magnet and knew he'd found his true love! haha!

I agree with everything Pirate said except she forgot one more crap band: America!

Good afternoon Moi,

It was the Ventures. I sold it at a yard sale last summer.

La Diva: I loves me some Pork Soda. "'Cept today my feet are troddin' on by this friend of mine/
Six foot two and rude as hell/
I got to get him in the ground before he starts to smell." . . . Hey. You just gave me an idea for a post.

K9: Loves me both Elvises. Greatest lyric evah, although not from Almost Blue: "Dear Lord I sincerely hope you're coming/
'Cause you really started something."

Ree: He looks almost hawt here.

Vixen: The cover of Equinox especially.

Karl: D'oh! Gah, I'm SO slow! You sold the Ventures? Seriously? That's like selling, I dunno, Herb Alpert's A Taste of Honey or Trini Lopez Live at PJ's!

Karl said...

You have me feeling bad now. Herb Alpert's A Taste of Honey went the same day. (I did love his album covers)

The records were so worn it was hard to get through a side without the needle getting stuck and I can still listen on the Internet:

Nah. Don't feel bad. I'm weird - I invest emotion into material objects. You'd have to pry that album from my cold dead hands. The LENGTHS my parents went to to hide it from my brother, it was hysterical! I hope you got some good prices . . .

Hey now, the Bay City Rollers are from Scotland, and still beloved by the country (have you not seen "So I Married An Axe Murderer"? A leeetle too close to home that movie is).

Plus, they are kitschy as shit.

Maybe living in the UK has rotted my brain, they don't offend me so much.

Moi:

I have about half of those albums on vinyl too!

Awesome taste!
