All My Friends Are Skeletons; They Beat the Rhythm with their Bones

Hi Mom!

Please excuse the mess. We're finishing up the last of our kitchen home improvement projects and all should be well by the time you leave here on Saturday. In the meantime, feel free to grab something to eat and look around. Your altar is in the bedroom. But, uh, stay outta my closet, por favor.

And, yes, I forgot cake this year, but I've got candy and at least I didn't drink all the tequila.

Love you! – Moi.

Read all about one of Moi's favorite holidays, Dia de los Muertos, here and here.

Very nice idea, I'm gonna make me one of them. if only I could find a horizontal space absent of clutter...

Very cool picture and it's giving me some ideas..... but that's because I did peek in the closet.

that's nice....i love el dia de los muertos...this will be the first year i have not participated in building a altar at the atlanta fest. i made one to dead birds a few years ago....i like yours...very meaningful. i was in oaxaca once for day of the dead.....there were skeletons walking the streets on stilts and the graveyards were alive with candles and food and marigolds and music.

posada is a favorite as well. tomorrow i will upload my own DOTD illustrations!

Somehow I know--just *know*--that someday you and your mom will end up in a wrestling match over that tequila.

DR: You could put the altar in the garage next to da pool!

AB: Okay, yes, the shoes are cute. But the closet is STILL a mess.

She: You wrote one of Moi's favorite words: Atlanta. Are you anywhere near Piedmont Park? My most favorite place in the world to run. And to stay is the Wyndam down the road with the best mojitos evah. Cazadores is yummy. So is Cuervo's 1800 Gran Reserva, if you're in the mood to break the bank.

Wicked: And I must hang my head in total shame because all I had to present my mother was the margarita mix stuff. I am so in trouble when we meet again . . .

the cuervo that comes in the fancy decorated box? i think we have one. we have a shrine to tequila over here. no...i am up peachtree in NoBuck (north buckhead) my art studio is over off I-85 between north druid hills and clairmont. piedmont park is wonderful. but atlanta is in real trouble now. no water and rampant over building. greedy bastards!

well happy el dia....if i get a good check up im going over to my studio and upload my DOTD illustration for you. (did you buy marigolds today???)

Dat's the tequila I'm talking about – nectar of the gods.

Buckethead! Moi's favorite neighborhood. Ja, now everyone wants an inside the perimeter address. Boo.

Oh, and I clipped some marigolds from a client's yard yesterday. Nice little bookay.

Here's to rain, a good check up, and the illustration!
