Cougar? You have a possible Fleur sighting? I don't imagine her traipsing on snowbound trails.

Yikes! Hope bobcat isn't looking for dinner! Glad you have snow and WE DON'T! :)

Czar: Maybe one of her friends?

Pam: He'd be too little to do any real harm. I'd have to be up in the mountains with a pocket pet for him to be interested.

I like bobcats. Hope you can live in harmony with them.

Aunty: Yes. Ivan treed one once and it wasn't shy about broadcasting just how unhappy it was about that.

Troll: Bobcats are not in any danger from me, and I don't believe anyone wants to hunt them for sport around here. I've seen several in the wild and semi-wild, which is amazing considering how stealthy they are, so it just goes to show that their numbers are stable. S.B. and I followed these tracks for several miles. They were fresh, so he/she was most likely very near by.

how did you know it was a bob cat? not a cougar? were you scared? did the dogs go nutty?

you live so close to a kind of nature that's very wild and I love the picture. Just want to be sure you're safe? of course you are. right?

Boxer: No claw marks mean kitty (they retract their claws when they walk). 2-3 inches in diameter means bobcat. Larger means cougar and major shaking in my space boots. My trainer sees them regularly at the foot of the mountain. I never have. Knock wood, fingers crossed, please God, I'm happy they exist, but FAR AWAY from me (however, only three people killed by mountain lions in NM in past 40 years--one kill was by a starving female; the other was a small child, snagged off a well-worn trail; the other was a healthy 55 year old man--he must have smelled like chicken). No dogs on this run. Too far. But, they are a good deterrent.

We have bobcats here in Jersey, but I've never seen one or it's tracks. Last night, I saw a house cat chasing a rabbit accross the street in front of our car. You don't see that every day.

Buzz: Perhaps the cat was confused by love?
