I'm not wearing shiny pants and Robin Zander doesn't look like that anymore. Thanks for the inspiration and vote of confidence. I hope I make it back alive.
The Kinks for your first concert, Buzz? Cool! After reading your blog post, I'm sure the Pudge won't forget his first concert either.
My first was Peter, Paul, and Mary in Syracuse, New York, with my dad, in '65 or '66. I also remember my first Grateful Dead concert, although not all the rest of them :)
Ain't never been to no concert of rockers--very under privileged youth. Somehow, livin' on UF campus in the days of, I missed the whole show. Reckon thas' one fer Guniness.
Some years later I did escort a clan youth to a james taylor concert--yawn.

WTWA: Totally, right? And why don't men wear shiny disco pants like that anymore, I'd like to know.
Why for Buzz? Did he make a promise about wearing shiny disco pants?
Shamu: Now, that would be something, wouldn't it. No, he's taking his children to a Cheap Trick concert this weekend.
Ahhhhh, gotcha. I'm with you though, he should wear the shiny pants. If only to make the kids want to hide.

Shamu: I'm with ya. What good is it to be a parent if you can't embarrass the living daylights out of your kids?
Buzz: Aw, come on. See above.
Buzz is a good Dad. My first concert was John Denver.

Heff: I always forget how much I do, too.
My first concert was the Kinks - One for the Road, 1979. And I posted a blog on the Pudge's first concert - Cheap Trick, 2010.
Harry Chapin. Avery Fisher Hall/Lincoln Center, NYC. December 1 or 2, 1973. Afternoon concert.

Buzz: I saw the Kinks when they opened for the Pretenders in 1980 or 1981, I can't remember.
Czar: My father calls Chapin a three-hanky performer.
Eggplant: In spite of my childhood folk music exposure trauma, "Leaving on a Jet Plane" is one of my favorite songs.
Aunty: You know, I have never been much of a James Taylor fan, either. I may get some eggs thrown my way, but I say, "yawn," too.
lynard skynard, hattiesburg mississippi at the University of Southern Miss arena. 1974. I was in 9th grade.
The second album had just come out, with sweet home alabama on it. 'course Freebird was on the first album so the concert ended with it.
three years later half the band would die in the infamous plane crash.
