I remember the first time I saw this movie and my jaw dropping at the end. I never saw it coming. Great movie.
Did you see Brad where he plays the Irish pikey guy in Snatch? I secretly think that is the hottest he has been since Legends of the Fall. But oh, thanks for this, ........ :) :)

Pam: To be fair, no, I haven't seen him in Snatch and now that I think of it, he did a pretty amazing job in Babel, too. But recently? Not only have his movies stunk, man looks downright haggard. Angelina, I hear, is rough on her men. And I don't mean that in a good way.
Karl: It's a must see, for sure. Let me know what you think.
This was the movie we wanted K9 to see but couldn't remember.
Shamu: Oh, that's right! This one and Velvet Goldmine, I think.
yeah before brad pitt became a white rastafarian billy goat gruff. still havent seen fight club! can you believe that? brad was hot in thelma and louise. from there it was all down hill. fast.
I've seen Babel, and think it's an excellent movie. Now miss Moi, put Snatch on your must see soon list. You'll be glad you did.
Chickory: See, I found him a lil' too scrawny and earnest in T&L. Legends of the Fall, I think, was the height of his gorgeousness. Hah! Baaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Kym: I think I saw a clip of Snatch once. Could you understand it? In all those macho Brit flicks, it seems the men just mumble so.
I think this came out after I started boycotting Hollyweird. Anyway, I haven't seen it.

I was going to say Snatch too! I didn't like Fight Club, found it very hard to watch. I hate boxing though so it took that to the extreme. I love him as Irish Pikey!

yah. I understood, but I had an advantage growing up with a british accent around since I was eight. I forget that not everyone else did. :/
Moi, you are funny! I always laugh when TV shows put subtitles for Aussies, Irish and New Zealand people that are speaking English! LIke Kym, I guess you have to be around people with those accents to "hear" them!
Troll: One of the few films made after 1979 that I've put in my top ten.
K9: Snort.
La Diva: I found the violence very elegant. And funny.
Boxer: Now, or later? Personally, I'm going to give him a chance to divest himself of BatShitCrazyAngelina and shave that beard before I write him off entirely. But I'm losing my patience.
Kym: As a teen cruising alone around Europe, I met a cute Irish boy on a train trip from Munich to Cannes. He tried his damnedest to woo me but I blew it because I kept saying, "What?" Had the same problem with S.B. when we first met (heavy, heavy southern accent). For some reason, he just kept repeating himself.
La Diva: Eventually, I do get an ear (witness my spousal unit), but it takes me a while. Then I start picking up the vocal mannerisms.
Moi, i'm not usually bothered by violence. But watching these guys hit themselves just seemed sick. I thought the movie to be self-serving. What do you mean by "elegant?"
Elegant in the way that it was choreographed (I'm a boxing fan) and elegant as well in its meaning, in the way the violence initially represented a search for feeling and meaning and identity. A kind of redemption for the hollow, purposeless direction these men were made to believe their lives were going. And then ultimately ironic (and funny), as the violence coalesces into a movement and then escalates to anarchy and nihilism.
Got it. You know what's funny about me? I can watch a movie or hear a song and depending on my mood, I'll like it or hate it. Must have been in an impatient, bad mood when watching this movie! haha! Sometimes I watch a movie again and get a completely different take on it.

I typically dislike violence, but I love watching live boxing matches. I've never watched Bambi, however, but think Pulp Fiction is a great movie.
I went to An Affair of the Heart today. I say a charm that said "shoe slut." I smiled and thought of you. :)
