The way cool Dread Pirate Rackham, that is, who not only lives in my 'hood and ran La Luz (and is doing so again this year, I believe), but also competes in such bad ass Olympic-style events like the Buffalo Springs Lake Triathlon AND writes a terrifically entertaining blog about it. Whoa. She da bomb.

(Also, I checked out DPR's blog... and she does rock. Completing an Ironman race (ANY of them) is incredible. Rick did three Ironmans and, though I think he's slightly insane, I have the utmost respect.)

Hey dread: Yes, I'm running Thursday, but in the a.m. My step father is going in for a heart valve operation at noon and he's recovering at our house for a couple days so we can watch the incision site. I'm picking him up at 5:00.
But let me know when the next meet up is, if there is one before the race, and I'll try and catch you all then.
