I'm nutty about cactus and that's one very, very pretty plant you have there. How do they like snow?

Good afternoon Moi,

Nice shots. Snow just ended here we got about an 1½ inch. It created total bedlam, such a hoot. I hope you enjoy your snow.

No snow here but I did get the Change in the Weather Coming migraine so something is up.

Desert Fauna is something I'd love to explore. Just without the cougars.

Snow here a few times already. We moved smoothly today into ice/slush storm. It's kind of hard to describe what's been coming down, except for tree limbs. Those are easy. One whole tree fell across the street today.

the pattern of bloom on that cactus is delightful. we had rain and fog today and a cold front for tomorrow. it hasnt been dull, i'll say that much. looking forward to your snow pix.

Is this Christmas cactus?!?!?! Haven't seen once since my long-ago winter days in the CO Rockies. I'm actually starting to feel a little more in the holiday spirit after seeing these pics and (finally) deciding on my xmas menu.

Happy holidays!

Love the cactus flowers. Amazing pattern. Thanks for sharing this little bit of color. We are expecting a bit of snow maybe also over the next couple of days. I can't bear to think about it.

Milk River: I dug that baby up from my property about eight years ago and it blooms every year around this time for months. Hearty critter.

Boxer: I counted about six different cactus species on my property and they all bloom like crazy at their specified times of year. Right now, though, they're all slumbering under a foot of white stuff.

Karl: I'm looking out the window at about a foot. No moisture for months, then this. Typical.

Shamu: If history is any indication, this storm should be headed your way after it's finished with Pam.

Czar: East of the Mississippi, the weather just gets . . . weird.

Chickory: To my growing list of pre-Christmas tasks, now I can add shoveling. Good work out.

Eggy: Hey, nice to see you're back. Yes, that's a Christmas cactus. My mom gave it to me when I moved in with my husband 15 years ago. Blooms every year this time like clockwork.

Pam: See comment to Shamu above. S.B. left OKC yesterday late a.m. and slammed into this around Santa Rosa. So it should be knocking at your door right about now. Sorry.
