It's a Party, Party People!

What are you going this New Year's Eve? Whatever it is, I hope you have plans to join us even briefly in this interactive, blog-wide party that encompasses two days, a good two-dozen blogs, games, food, drink, fabulous prizes, and oodles of money being raised for worthy causes all over the continent.

The brainchild of Miss Boxer, the party begins at midnight Eastern tonight and lasts until some time on January 1st of 2011. Boxer's blog serves as the main host station, with other bloggers co-hosting different party rooms with food, drink, games, and craft projects. Still other bloggers will simply hop around visiting, wearing and saying inappropriate, I mean, terribly witty and fashionable, things.

Why, yes, this ribbon IS Prada; why do you ask?

This blog will serve as the main Food and Drink Station (whose menu I will post starting in the morning), and will feature service by three of Mistress MJ's houseboys, which she has so, so graciously loaned Moi for the occasion.

I am also hosting a Culinary Guessing Game (which I will also post starting in the morning) that will earn the first person to correctly guess the most dishes a $50 donation from Moi to their favorite charity, matched by a $50 donation to my favorite charity, New Day, a private, non-profit Albuquerque-based organization that provides emergency and long-term shelter, counseling, educational services, and life skills training to children aged 11-17 whose parents have dropped the ball on their care.

Already, two of Moi's blog homies—Chickory and Troll—have posted fun and games at their sites, so if you haven't already visited them, why don't you get a head start and beat the rush?

Stay tuned to this page for more info as the event progresses.

Now excuse me. I need to go plan my outfit.

That's Prada? Looks kind Versace to me. but what do i know? I go shirtless all the time. Sounds like a fun party. whatever you prepare, Moi, make it nice and lean and protein packed. and forget about beating my score on Troll's game. have you seen my hands?

Ivan can wear big colors like that. Me? not so much.

Thanks for making the food, Moi. Because even the best music/etc is nothing without great grits.

I hope our party isn't ruined by those pesky squirrels.

Did you really score 95 on the Troll Game? Impressive. I think I had too much vodka in me last night. *hic*

Hey Ivan, you look kinda girly in that bow. You let her do that to you?

I look forward to your take on the traditional Oshogatsu celebration foods. One assumes there will be ozoni, Kuri kinton, kazuroko, dashi, and otoso. Perhaps all served together on a bun.

And, of course, plenty of otoso!

Banzai!

Master: Um. No, I went with a Spanish/Catalan theme. But I'll toss something together in a little lacquered box just por vous.

I should be good at this. The monsters and I play a Culinary Guessing Game every night at dinner time. Dad, what's this? Son, if you have to ask - you don't want to know.

oooh, I live CatalanCuisine!!

@ BuzzK,
"Dad? uh. Dad?? Is the is SQUIRREL hash?"

I just want to kiss that little Ivan face. Kiss it and hug it and call him George and then set him on my squirrels.

moi said...

Buzz: I predict you will be awesome at this!

Aunty: Since I'm going strictly finger food you can pluck off a platter served by MJ's houseboys, the menu is more "inspired by" than rigidly authentic. But it will do :o)

Shamu: Think how it's been for me these past 13 years: I'm stupid with baby talk!

CAN'T WAIT FOR THE FESTIVITIES TO BEGIN!!!!! Searching for my martini glasses now. Work has ended for the year and maybe my brain will turn from tasks to creativity! No guarantees though, but can't wait for this party-fest!

Looking forward to the outfit! and the meal. make my reservation for 9 pm please. where are you now on the beer tray scoreboard?

moi said...

Squirrel Boy: You ready to become appetizer El Numero Uno?

Pam: I'm off, too! Yay! Then again, I work for myself, so . . .

Chickory: I got to 96 but forgot to put in my score. Drat! My plan is to top 101 before tomorrow is over.

where? where is it? Im really excited you did it! are you snowed in? ice? looked bad on the news. and for ol' gnome too. if you are lurking here, Iamnot, happy new year to you >

Chickory: The snow has been falling steadily since about 10am. I'd say a foot or so has fallen, but it's hard to say because we have 50mph winds as well, blowing and shifting the stuff around. We have dinner plans tomorrow night, at a restaurant about 15 minutes away and up the mountain, so I'm hoping they have the roads plowed and sanded. Otherwise, I'll be HERE all night! Which is fine, too :o)

Looking forward to the finger food (and the house boys). I've got a little pre-party post up, in case you'd like to drool over some of my hometown ice cream, say, around 10:00 tonight. And I know you love sweets, Moi :)

moi said...

Boxer: I'm bound and determined to win a fabulous prize :o)

Eggy: And I'm looking forward to your New Year's Day Brunch! I'll be over to scoop out, er scope out, the sweets.

Just checking up on the Houseboys.

I advised them to be on their best behavior.

The houseboys look like fine finger food to me.
Um, I mean ... they're doing a fine job of passing the finger foods.
Yeah .. that's what I meant.
Truly.

Am I here too early for the food? Oh, I was supposed to get dressed first? It didn't specify that on the invitation. My bad.
