Beet It
Culinary Throwdown deadline is tomorrow! Theme is beets, glorious beets! All you have to do is make your dish, take photo or two, and post it – along with the recipe, if you like – on your blog. Then skedaddle over here and leave a comment saying you're UP! Then Troll and I will come around and declare a winner by the end of the week.
Some of you have asked if you can use pickled or canned beets and the answer is: YES. You may use them in any form you wish.

I bought two beets last night.......
I am going into this having never tasted a beet, but after some research, I might be able to pull something off. (But, do I have to submit a photo of me eating it?) :)
Boxer: And . . . you will turn them into a lovely Christmas ornament?
Allison: No, photos of said chef are totally not necessary. Photo of finished product, however, would be most excellent.
why? because you know I never actually cook anything for the challenges? BWAHAHAHAHAAHAH
Boxer's could have tragic implications...
Boxer: Well, that and because you're leaving in two days :o).
Shamu: I envision . . . a Mr. and Mrs. Beet Head.
Hi Moi!
I don't think I'm going to participate. :(
This week I'm super busy with events and classes and also I'm testing some new recipes for my class in the next two days and already have too much food to eat in the house! (As you can imagine, my neighbors love me.) So, I'm going to have to give the beet throwdown a miss.
(Although I would love to see what everyone else posts and I might post a link to a really good beet salad I made at Easter with roasted white beets.)
Good luck all!
Well if Boxer has the same vision I had and actually reproduces it on film, be prepared to come visit me in the hospital because I plan to laugh myself into an asthmatic coma.
Moi? I'm up. Beet it.
I'm up too!
I got the beet.
Dang, I love beets! I can't get to the store in time though. Next throwdown I'm in, for this go-round I'll use the ideas for my weekend shopping and menu-planning. Yum, beeeeeetttssss....
