The plans for the revolution will be in code.

First Hole Video I've ever seen. Interesting visually.

Happy Mute Monday!

K9: The entire album is one of the greatest of its genre. Lyrically and sonically, it's tough to beat.

Troll: I dig the German Expressionist vibe, myself.

Ah, what a blast back to a good time in my life. To this day I'm still not sure if I like Hole or Garbage more. Because I wanted to BE Shirley Manson.

Happy MM!!

Kym: Both women are awesomely cool and fiercely intelligent. "Doll Parts" and "Stupid Girl" should be required listening for Junior High School girls.

I somehow avoided this the first time, but now I'd like to know why.

Don't need my coffee after that this morning! :-)

Happy MM!

I always thought the name "Hole" for a girl band was perfect. Is Courtney a claccis? I never got into her. I've actually heard this sond before and is the only one that I can recall. One person's classic is another person's...hole.
Happy MM!

Boxer: The album is "Live Through This."

Karl: Released 1994.

Emma: I was a Fashion Victim :o)

Buzz: The "hole" album is an examination of just that very thing. The Madonna/whore complex, the way females deprive themselves of sustenance both physical and spiritual, or the way they do the opposite (ingest dangerous substances/ideas to fill the empty spaces).

Aunty: No, I find it, just like I do her life and her work, very disturbing. Just like I find a lot of brilliant art disturbing in what it chooses to examine about life, human relationships, etc. No one in rock and roll is more self-referential than Courtney Love, and she uses those self references to make exceptionally razor sharp observations about what it means to be female in general. Plus, the music is my genre. Sheena is a punk rocker :o).
