Is there any authoritative definition on what a "Pit Bull" is?
Just tried to read Ontario's Law and it was confuzzling. But I don't speak Canadian.
My daughter and I were watching this all teary-eyed. I think I may have told you that I did a story once about dog bites and the vet I interviewed said, in his practice, pit bulls were the nicest dogs he'd ever met, and the meanest were... drum roll... cocker spaniels.

Troll: Yes, actually. A pit bull is either an American Pit Bull Terrier (UKC registered), an American Staffordshire Terrier (AKC), or a Staffordshire Bull Terrier (AKC & UKC), all with very specific conformation and temperament requirements

Bottom line, not all big headed, muscley dogs are pit bulls. Some are American Bulldogs, some are Dogo Argentos (I think K9's bro bred them), etc.
The Canadian law, both ethically and legally, is crap. It's as bad as Denver's. Draconian. Third World. Based in ignorance and fear. Boycott both the city and the province.
Wendy: Yup. In the bazillion years I've been around pits, I've met maybe one or two dogs that I would classify as sketchy, much less "dangerous." But oh Lord, don't get me started on Spaniels or Jack Russells.
They are so cute and I want to hug them all. Of course it could be the pain meds...
