Stuck in the Middle With You

Was it Douglas Adams who once said he could never get the hang of Thursdays? It's a weird day, isn't it. Colored a dark blue/purple/black. Like a bruise. Or one of those wide shouldered, space age Claude Montana outfits from the '80s.

Today's Thursday is a pause in my work week to do a trial run up La Luz with S.B. and a couple friends, one of whom is running it with me this year. He's the dude I wrote about last year who in his mid forties suddenly took up running and within a couple months was doing marathons. He's one of those "natural" runners. Smoked me on my own hills in my own 'hood yesterday morning. He's going to post a great time, while I, simply, will have a great time, plodder that I am.

What day of the week is your weird day?

Robert Palmer's dead?"

Once again, I'm only aware that she is wearing clothes because I can't see her naked.
Damn that fashion stuff!

Another good one Troll.

Monday is always my weird day - it takes all day to get me back into the "groove thing" after a weekend.

Enjoy that running with your training partner and hydrate, hydrate!

I hate Mondays they are so disorientating - I always feel like I wake up with my head screwed on backwards.

I'm in a comfortable place & time that if I'm running it's only because a gator is chasing me.

I think Mondays are my weird day, but for a good reason - I look forward to them so much! I love my kidlets, but after a full weekend with them, I look forward to the break of having to go to work! And I do love my job. And, I usually play basketball every Monday night. And when I play basketball, all I think about is basketball. Nothing else. Mind cleared. It is awesome.

PS - I am excited for you to read my blog. I had you in mind.

Haiku Master: Might as well face it, you're addicted to haiku.

Gnome: You're such a dude.

Doris Rose: OMG it was HOT! I mean, HOT! But awesome.

Boxer & Emma: Mondays are always so awkward, you want to shoot the whole day down, don't you?

Shamu: Or they have spoiled crab?

K9: Bebe is about up there with Cache por Moi. P. U.

WTWA: A post with Moi in mind that doesn't contain pee or poop? You are my hero!

MOi,
Thursdays are RUSH day for me. As soon as my feet hit the floor I have a keen sense of urgency ... er not that first morning urgency... but a time urgency. I am so aware it is the day before Friday and the weeks tasks are yet to be completed and if , like Pavlovs dog, I don't ring the bell ... my weekend will be forfeit! AHHHH, the pressure of it all .

KUDOS! to anyone running a marathon at any pace.

This reminds me -- did you ever find out anything from the lab test you did on your ability to assign colors to days/numbers/letters, etc??? I have a similar friend who, after breast cancer treatment, decided to start jogging and shortly thereafter decided to do marathons. She makes me feel like a slug!

I was caught up in the question when it struck me like a monk ringing a bell with a flounder.

Every day is weird.

P.S. I have always wanted one of Montana's full length leather coats. They are boss!

Fishy: Usually Thursdays are rush days as you describe for me, too. Although I do have the luxury – if not often the WILL - to work the weekend if I have to.

Pam: They're not going to give me any "results" per se. Once the study is published, I'll have access to that. My MRI was read by a doc, though, and it was all clear. No shoe-shaped tumors in the left hemisphere!

NYD: "Boss"! I haven't used that word in ages. It will now be the word of the day.

Actually I have yet to see ANY crab caught in the US. All Indonesia produced crab. Sad.

I think my weird days are also Thursdays. It's like a dark glooming thundercloud that is preventing Friday from arriving. And when Friday gets here, it never fails that I think and feel "TGIF"

Ackshully, Thursday works as weird. An' bruised. "Thursday's child has far to go" ain't encouragin' either.

But La Luz? Ah--wings fer yore feet, Dahlin'!

P.S. Mah criteria fer runnin' matches Shamu's.
