Ha! I so agree. A few years ago we had a punk-ass-college-student/slacker working for us in the Summer. My biz partner corrected him on something and turned to my partner and said "you're rude!" I heard that and came whirling out of my office like the Tazmanian Devil. I told him "We don't care, we're paying YOU to work."
Boxer: I recently told my niece how terribly upset I am by her decision to live solely off government loans instead of putting her slack-ass self to work. She didn't even have the guts to get mad at me. Instead? I hurt her "feelings."
Buzz: Right? A Catholic, Jew, and Atheist walk into a bar . . . and say nothing, because they'll be fined by the PC police if they do.
Offended is when something feels personal to you ... sounds like these others were irritated instead of offended. Irritated means you are mad back at the other side for whatever reason ... maybe a recognition of truth? Being truly being offended has happened to me lately and I'm still working out how to deal with the person who (in her selfishness and paranoia) makes me feel this way. Sigh.
Haiku Monday is at my place this week. Theme is Bloom! Spread the word! I have gotten onto some blogs to announce this, but some I cannot access! http://fleurspearls.blogspot.com/2013/03/haiku-monday-311-bloom.html
What comes to mind is a play that ran at the local theatre here a few years ago that had about a two-minute scene of complete male and female nudity. Eight-year-old kids out there picketing on behalf of their preachers and ma-maws. Sickening.

"I'm offended" also means you have no sense of humor.

Fleur: I'll be by at some point today, thanks!
