I read this horror story earlier today.

Good afternoon Moi,

She's a most courageous young lady. I heard a report on the radio morning stating, her neurological function seems to be normal and she may recover from the gunshot wounds.

Then comes the hard part. Keeping her alive, when these pariah come after her again. This is where I have a problem with mainstream Islam. They blame these situations on the extremists, however they will do nothing to police their own. Which says one of two things. Either their gutless and afraid to protect their own or they believe the Taliban and other extremists like the Muslim brotherhood will fight the main battles and do all the real repressive dirty work. Then mainstreamers will take the rest over quietly. Either way it's not acceptable.

I'm hopeful she has a full recovery and goes on to bigger and better things. Like inspiring the Pakistanis to blow the crap out of the Taliban on their own.

After reading link from von LX (Good Day Sir)Perhaps the crusades aren't a bad idea after all.

Huffington Post? Moi, even I don't read the Huffington Post.

If you're trying to paint all of Islam by the thoughts of the Taliban, that's unfortunate.

Not that I'm any big supporter of Islam. I mean, I'd love to plan a trip to the beaches of Yemen, except that I understand I probably wouldn't survive the visit if my family lineage were known.

lx: Difficult to believe in this day and age that women are still regarded as property in a good chunk of the world.

Karl: The Taliban was very vocal in taking responsibility for this. So . . . why hasn't the Pakistani government taken action? Oh. Right. Everyone's a wuss when it comes to Islam.

Czar: "If I'm trying to paint Islam by the thoughts of the Taliban, that's unfortunate." Well, not if the majority of Muslims remain unable or unwilling to police these extremists. If all we know of this religion is what the extremists paint of it, then that's what the religion MEANS. For many years I proudly aligned myself with the Republican Party. And then one day, I realized its extreme religious wing was speaking for the ENTIRE party. It's difficult to hold a credo and then have to qualify it. "Yes, I'm a Republican, but, you know, one of those Barry Goldwater Classical Liberal kinds." That gets tiresome at dinner parties. How CAN moderate Muslims call themselves such? It's oxymoronic!

Good for you for standing/speaking up. Evil will prevail as long as governments and peoples accept heinous acts in order to be PC.
How can these behaviors ever be "correct"? That's just c-r-a-z-y

Well, today some of the cooler heads hit the streets. Good thing.

But here's more what I've been thinking. If, back in 1978, we started taking a tenth of the defense budget each year and investing it in developing non-oil-based energy sources, we wouldn't even be having this discussion today.

Islam sucks. Now that we have that out of the way, when we push back on our own Taliban who has signed us up for generational debt slavery; has taught us the virtues of submission and obedience via the TSA and DHS; and signed into law about a thousand more egregious oppressive acts - we will be better positioned morally to have some affect on a girl in Pakistan. For now I suppose drone bombing the crap out of civilians in Pakistan in hopes of hitting one Tali is the best we can do. gosh, I wonder why they dont work with us to root the bad guys out?

This is nothing more than government sponsored sufferage and pedophilia. And I say government because countries like Pakistan allow these extreme Taliban (and their ilk) practices. Shooting a girl in the head because she wants to go to school, 8 year old brides - it's insanity.

This world will be destroyed by religion (all kinds) - and cell phones (but that's a different story).

I agree with you, Buzz. We wonder why the people of pakistan allow their government to sponsor sufferage and pedophilia? Why do we allow our government to ..(insert about a thousand evil things) Resistance to tyranny of all stripes seems to be at an all time low.

czar said...

@Buzz: I agree with your concluding statement. I'd add to that ketchup on hot dogs.

moi said...

Wait a minute. There's something WRONG with ketchup on hot dogs?

Chickory: I love Gary Johnson for saying point blank that we are slaves to debt. And when the U.S. economy comes crashing down around our ears, seemingly without warning, everyone will scream, "Why didn't someone WARN us?" Here you go. Consider yourselves warned. Send lawyers, guns, and money, and get us out of this.

Some people like religion and cell phones, too. Don't make 'em right.

LẌ said...

Ditto ketchup on hotdogs. Sorry.

moi said...

Czar: I'm fine with cell phones.

lx: Well, usually I just put chile, cheese, and onions on mine. Is that okay?

Good afternoon Moi,

Hate, Hot dogs and Hypocrisy would all be "cool" topics for cool haiku. Over at Grins. Why don't y'all come and vent a bit.

Hotdogs = mustard, sauerkraut and occasionally jalapeño peppers. Although I'd rather have a brat.

moi said...

Karl: Well, alrighty then! On both counts.

Slaw and chili on the dawg with mustard..
and hold the religion...

I hated ALL men, their religion, their politics all over the world when I read about this young girl.....and then my three men came home. sigh..

Foam: There are good men being raised in this world, thank goodness.
