Hmmmn....good entries --that first one is a strong candidate.

Is that photo of yore yard??? eeek.

Do snow shoes come in tangerine?

Aunty: Actually, now that you mention it, one of my pairs of snowshoes IS tangerine orange-colored. Fancy that!

Beautiful first one, Moi. On #2, the name "Tyler Durden" rings a bell. But so does "Thucydides." I know about as much of one as the other.

And yes, I've now searched "Tyler Durden." My money's on Thucydides for an 8th-round TKO.

I really like the first one. Second one kind of esoteric but good. Happy New Year.

oh, the first one. "Winter garden sealed" Love that! Great picture, but of course, if that were my yard I'm not sure I'd be so enchanted with it.

Moi at the bottom of my Christmas card is an apology for people from Co. They're all true except for the Valley hwy thing. Must be for Denverites. Maybe I 25 or I 70.
P.S. There are very few Native Coloradans left.

Czar: 'Twas the last time Brad PItt really rocked a movie, though.

Boxer: I'm afraid to loosen those branches. Figure I'll just let mother nature take her course.

Curmee: It's a similar situation around here. Definitely a carpet-bagging state. As a true blue Nuevo Mexico native, I can't tell you the number of Californians I've been tempted to shoot over the years and they keep. on. coming. I don't mind the New Yorkers so much, because they just move to the West Side and open pizza parlors. As for humidity, it's fine by an ocean--the breezes help a lot. But the interior of, say, Louisiana or Georgia in July or August? That's just all kinds of wrong.

Chickory: Number two is a play on the never-ending quest for self improvement. Yay to snow! 17 degrees? That's pretty darn cold. I remember you got a good dump last year and the dogs romped in it. Koby. She needs a lady-in-waiting, I swear.

I'm joining the crowd and going with number one! But ....gasp! .... who is surprised you have snow footwear in the color of the year! Wow! You and Karl.

Love the snow garden pic and haiku! I do like it when we get a nice snow up in north GA because it covers up what went wrong with the landscaping for a few days!

Lovely to both the pic and the haikus. Popped by here in the midst of hecticness to say glad you tried my g'ma's chocolate buttermilk cake, but boo, I didn't get your emails. Tried emailing you . . .

And Buzz popped back up today. I'll add that to my list of things to be glad for in the new year.

Stay warm. We're down in the teens for the second night in a row. But supposed to get back in the 50s by Fri. #goofy weather
xoxo, eggy

Oooh #1 was a strong entry. Especially around here after last winter. Many plants did not survive the mega blizzards for last winter. Even more did not survive the mega heat wave. Sorry I missed the first Haiku Monday of the year.
