Needful Things

Okay, okay. You can stop flashing those shiny brights at me now. I admit it. You've got my attention. I'm intrigued, alright?

But I have to tell you, I already have a car. And not just any car, but a really great car. A car with good bone structure and incredible handling. It's fast and nimble and smart and even has a terrific sense of humor. And I've had it for so long now, I don't know what I'd do with another one. I mean, do I even have the energy for another car? The outfits? The bank account?

Wait, what's that? Say again?

Ohhhhhhh. I see where you're going with this. It's not like I have to take you home, right? Just one spin around the block should do it, then we both go our separate ways and I'll forget I ever looked deep into your burled wood and leather lined dashboard or heard the sweet growl of your 5.4 liter, V-8, 355 hp, 0-60 in 4.2 seconds engine.

Right?

What color?

Boxer: The one that flirted with me was iridium silver. Damn iridium silver!

Maybe you could think of it as an investment! A place to put your money instead of the stock market. It might actually hold its value better! As soon as I saw your pic, I thought "FIZZY"!!!!

Pam: Bwahahahahaha! A car hold it's value! That's the best laugh I've had all day. I totally make fun of Mercedes all the time. I call them Hitler cars and bemoan the upper middle class love for them. But this little SLK roaster. Man.

Aunty: Noooooooooo. Not por Moi. If I had the $$$? Range Rover.

LOL aunty! cheer up -theres always "net jets"

i like it. is that the SL class roadster? 151K? i like a more LoPro finish like black with 30% tint; but thas just how i roll. grrrrrherhahahaha/ yeah. the OG in me.

I could live with that. Id prolly drop back about 8 years -i like that body style better. but im not one to quibble.

oh - and see what i mean? making the case for ya "sun" side.

Chickory: No, not the SL, the SLK. I like its looks better. (Although, the soon-to-be-released SLS AMG trumps both. Fine, FINE car, one I'd drop a cool 200K on in a heartbeat, were I a rich girl: www.mercedes-amg.com/?lang=usa#/sls-overview).

Anyway, until recently, I was strictly a 1970s coupe girl. A girlfriend's husband has one—baby blue with pristine white leatha interior—and I made him pinky-swear many years ago if he ever sells it, I get first dibs. But these lil' roadsters I like a LOT.

Now, if only my "sun" side would get its ass in gear and make me some phat loot!

Ixnay on the Range Rover. We had one for a while and it was great fun. But once that warranty is over, it is muy expensivo to get work done, or buy parts and install them yourself (or significant other install them) ... not to mention gas. But if money were no object ... go ahead!

spiffy looking car. not quite a z28 .. but not bad .. ;)

Pam: I had a Land Rover for 7 years. Best vehicle ever. But you're right, once it started to go, repairs were in the quadruple digits. After one of those, we traded it in for a Jeep, which even a third grader can fix for a couple bucks and some duct tape.

Foam: One of my other "dream" cars. There are so many . . .

earlier this summer a tricked out new camero (driven by a brother -what can i say its the ATL) pulled alongside us. it looked great -though i dont like the style of the new windows being so smaller. the challenger is the same.

the roadster. I think i like coupes a little better. so do the medallin cartel evidently.

V found a motor to drop in the old gray truck. We may rally after all!!!

Chickory: Yay to V, that mighty fine man! I like both the new Camaro and the new Challenger. Yeah, slightly tacky gangsta, but I wouldn't kick either one outta the driveway were it to suddenly appear.

@Chickory: I remember back in the day driving in the ATL and hearing the car coming up next to me way before I saw it. Big bass beat shaking everything around it. Looked next to me and saw an immense brother in some tricked-out vehicle . . . sucking on a pacifier. I just laughed. I know the pacifier was likely dunked in some mind-altering substance, but the whole tableaux was rather ridiculous.

I drove a two-seater mercedes recently. Was a tad underwhelmed by the power and handling.

Czar: I remember when pacifier sucking was big out here. All the high school girls wore them around their necks.

Troll: Isn't there something missing here? Make, model, year?
