Good morning Moi,

Ack…Haiku Monday, I forgot.

Nice tribute to your best friend.

Aunty: Sweet and noble, but I hate seeing them in pain. The Ivanator is very arthritic now, and I've got him on a carefully crafted cocktail of pain meds. He mostly sleeps all day, although we still get him out for a walk every other day and this morning he was in the mood to play.

Princess: Thanks!

Karl: Howdy, señor! I hope you made it through Irene okay. Reports are so spotty—some places are utter disaster areas, others not so much.

seriously, I forgot until I saw your blog post. I've been seriously busy this weekend but I'm going to try to get one in.

Your Haiku made me tear up. :-( Noble dog. Their twilight years aren't easy. I'd like to think they have no idea what's going on.

xoxo

Great haiku about a truly great canine

Boxer: I guess it bears repeating: "Do we REALLY want to be this busy?" :o) So I hope you can get in a 'ku. As for Ivan: La, la, la, la, la. I refuse to think about it.

Troll: Thanks. He's the best damn dog I ever had. And I've had a lot of them.

i recall him moving purposefully through the house; to his comfy bed; the way he looked out over the vista and of course poking that silly head through the dog door and having the rest of the body follow through. Ivan is a good soulful dog that I loved meeting and hanging with. Like Boxer, your haiku left me a bit misty because he is in a little way MY dog too. Happy Haiku Monday

Chick: "Silly" really is the best way to describe his head :o) And of course he's also partly your dog. You've memorialized him in paint and in ornament, baby talked to him, and taken his photo, so how could he not be?
