Movie Clip Wednesdays: Favorite Sports Mov--

Mov--rrrrrrrruuuuuud

Movi--rrrrrrrrruuuuuudddddd

Oh, for craps sake, STOP IT! I'm not going to write Rudy, no matter how many gosh darn times you grab at my keyboard or run around the house chanting Rudy! Rudy! Rudy! at the top of your lungs and making the dogs all barky. And NO, you can't bribe me with candy, perfume, or whatever. Now, go away. This is my blog. Mine.

Great pick. Made back with Tom Hanks was funny (you know, before the Oscars and schnizz.)

I loved the quirkly cast too and it was a nice fluffy piece of Hollywood "twisted" history too.

Happy MCW!

Great flick for a bit of light entertainment thanks Moi

Wait, you miss understood me. Bwahahaha

I really like this movie and Tom Hanks is hysterical. It's nice that baseball is the central theme of the movie rather than on the periphery (wow, what a vocabulary)like so many othe baseball movies. And it's a movie about a man's sport - directed by a woman. That's probably why I cry at the end.

Happy MCW!

Good morning Moi,

Very good choice, I really enjoyed this movie. I don't however remember scenes that would make one cry. Yet being a standup kind of guy. I will hand Buzz a hanky.

Happy clip day and enjoy your Thanksgiving!

I'm with Boxer. First thing I thought was "this is when Hanks was still funny". And Gina Davis was still attractive. And you could weigh Rosie O'Donnell with one bathroom scale. Great choice. Happy MCW.

Boxer: It's kind of fun to pick out all the members of the cast who went on to greater fame and fortune. I wish Virginia Madsen would get more work, though. I always thought she was a classy broad.

Princess: My father used to be an umpire. The THINGS they get called, I tell ya.

Buzz: I'm all about the baseball action in this, too. It's one of my favorite sports, although I prefer live games.

Karl: And a beer. Don't forget to also give him a beer.

Milk River: And before Madonna got cheek implants . . . we could go on forever.

K9: There may be no crying in baseball, but there is plenty of crying during Rudy. Coming from me. Because there is no escape when it's on cable. Which is usually in the middle of winter, when I can't go outside to get away.

A movie where Madonna wasn't a total tool. If I remember correctly Michelle Pfeiffer was originally penciled in for the Geena Davis role but pulled out at the last minute. I remember this because the poor prop dude had built detailed, accurate to the period catchers equipment to fit Michelle not a much taller Geena. I could feel his pain.

Love this movie even though it had a bit of a tv series feel and pacing to it.

Oh girl, I was almost there with you. I had Rudy picked out at least twice, and League of their Own at least once. Went back and found another, because I was also on the verge of using Remember the Titans yet again! Happy MCW! There's no crying in blogging!

Shamu: I love that you just called Madonna a tool. Woman's been called a lot of things, but I'm not sure that exact word has ever been used before.

Pam: And, no throwing baseballs!

Are you saying Madge, in the acting department, is not a tool?
