Movie Clip Wednesdays: Best Rainy Day Movie

For me, it's Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. A big ol' candy colored bubble gum pop of a movie with a fantastic soundtrack and a message of love, hope, change, and fashion. J'adore.

Good evening Moi,

That was good for a grin. I'm not sure I'd sit through the whole movie. Yet, the trailer was funny.

Hope the trips going well.

Yeah, I'm with Karl on this one. I've seen bits and pieces of it on TV but could never get interested in it. But I'm not the one stuck at your house on a rainy day.

I went to my 5 year high school reunion and said never again. One, I never liked anyone I went to school with and two, I couldn't believe how much damage people could do to themselves in only 5 years. I just missed my 30th reunion a couple of years ago and I'm not even sure they had one. If they did, I probably wasn't missed.

Happy MCW!

"I invented post-it notes". (If only I had!) .... I've sworn off high school reunions also ... went to two of them, the 10 and the 20. Ex-husband and his wife there both times. Current husband there second time. Found ourselves sitting at the table of snooty kids (now age 38). Told husband in a secret whisper, "this just won't do, we'are at the snobby table".... so when the program takes a break and all goes quiet, he pipes up and asks in a very loud and English voice, "So, Pam, which of these people here were the snobs?" Pam immediately reverts back to Molly Ringwald in 16 Candles and wants to disappear into the woodwork! See what memories you bring back with this movie?

I loved this movie. It was just stoopid and silly enough for it to earn a "Classic Crap" award which is GOOD in my world, trust me.

I went to only one reunion. My 10th. Everyone was still the same so I passed on the rest. Pam's story made me happy I had. :-)

(btw, thanks for playing Pal. I know you're working.)

Karl: Trip going fine. See new post for the rest.

Buzz: I went to my 20th. All the women looked great. All the men, with the exception of the gays, looked beaten down.

Pam: Ah, husbands. Can't live with them, can't turn them into a quality handbag.

Boxer: I thoroughly enjoyed my reunion, though. Especially when one of my school's true blue snobs came up to me, drunk to the gills, and held me hostage for an hour bitching about her cheating husband and five kids.

Chickory: The flip flops. They are everywhere. I nearly gave in to a pair myself, but then I remembered: I have my gladiators :o)

Heff: Republicans can have potty mouths, too.
