I had a client tell me today that they (the corporate they) were tired, too -- from overwork.
I think everyone who is very good at what they do is exhausted. Everyone I know who provides a service and is good at it is wiped out. Contractors, car mechanics, writers, editors . . .
Seen Boxer lately? Great at what she does, I gather.
Seen Chick9 lately? Great at what she does, I know for a fact.
Me? I just booked my five days at Gethsemani in October. Five days of silence and bad food and guys in white cloaks chanting about stuff I don't put any stock in whatsoever.
Oh Hai Karl, LX and Czar. I'm here, SWAMPED by the chaos of too much work and we're moving in two weeks. There was a huge shift a few weeks ago and it's get crazier every day. I miss blogging, or, I miss this community but right now I am so focused on not drowning. It hasn't been like this in ..... four years? I have a quick vacation planned for mid-September and you have no idea how much I'm looking forward to it. And need it.
Czar makes a good point, businesses are outsourcing more and more to meet demand without the expense of adding an employee. Definitely this goes to the wise, gifted and deadline respecting first!
You...all of our blog family are missed but same as with my sisters, when they show up we always have a great visit.
Just read your previous blog. God only knows how much you and SB struggled to make that call. I hope you had plenty of tequila on hand.
Moi: You must know by now my love of tongue action, and your most lyrical one has been sorely missed!!!
Perhaps you could come by and throw down for shits & giggles only, just to calm my nerves a bit. (The rest of you haikuers above are expected, as well...please and thank YOU!)
I get busy, so no worries if not, but it would truly be a blessing...
Rafa
P.S. In regards to Otis, hopefully a better life lies on the other side. By definition, it's unknown, but I, for one, hold out hope and pray the sins of flesh (even for a dog) peel way and his soul now flies FREE!
