I'm sorry I understand. We just lost Poppy.
Thank you all for your kind words. Ivan lived to be almost 15 years old, had a life full of adventure and joy, and gave as good as he got. What a dog. We were privileged to have had him by our side for as long as we did. A bearer of the standard, for sure.
@Grins: Oh no! I just finished reading about how Poppy showed up at your house—such a sweet story! My deepest condolences on your loss. It seems you and your wife have opened your hearts and homes to a lot of critters over the years. It's never easy, losing a furry friend. Take care . . .

oh noooooo. Moi, Cherie, I am heart broke wif' ya'. We has two canine family members in the camellia garden, I does unnerstan. But, wow, did Ivan have a great pair of humans!!
I had the Honor of laying in his bed. He was.a fine k9 an elder statesmen when I met him. A good natured badass. I send big love from I-95 headed to Savannah.xoxox
