Haiku Monday: SUMERU

This week's challenge is hosted by Chickory, who has tasked us to write a haiku based on our reactions to a selection of images by Nick Peterson, which in turn were inspired by a Zen-Buddhist concept. As beautiful and compelling and inspiring as I find these images, I've just plum run out of steam and have not a single more word inside of me to express how I feel about them. So I'll let Bjork do it instead:

Now head over to Chickory's to see what our weekly round of haiku-cuckhoos have finely crafted for our awe and amusement.

Hey! Where's my comment from last night? Booooo.

I think you did a good job with an alternative option for the Haiku. Your poor brain needs a resty, pal.

Thanks for your best wishes, everyone! It was a good day. I played hooky and ate sushi and went shopping. Back to the grind tomorrow, but tonight, a drink!

Aunty: Yes. Left all the deadlines squirming on my desk and treated myself to a sushi lunch, shopping, and errands. Discovered:

A. The skinny cropped colored jean trend, while nice in theory, doesn't work in reality. But a Helmut Lang dress (not made in China) I ordered on Gilt should be here today, so there is that.

B. After twenty years, the heavens parted, God said, "Let there be color," and I finally found a red lipstick I can wear: Smashbox Be Legendary in Mandarin.

Pam: Then I went home, opened a bag of Doritos, a tub of sour cream, poured a Lillet cocktail, sat on the sofa and . . . the power went out. Which may have been a good thing. I ate through 100 pages of Game of Thrones in no time.

Czar: Thanks! S.B. and I will celebrate next week when he's home. He has a birthday then, too.

K9 made note of you wanting Louboutins. (I had to Google it) So here you go. Funny I wouldn't have made you for a Jennifer Lopez fan.

Celebrate BIG! I'm sure you deserve some serious spoiling.

Karl: Oh, the shoes! The shoes! Thank you. Actually, I hate Jennifer Lopez's music but I love her booty, because it makes me feel oh-so-better about mine. (She's not a skinny mini anorexic but looks healthy and hearty and like she actually eats a burger every now and then.) And, by all accounts, she is also a hardworking, professional, non-pain-in-the-ass of a person.

Fishy: I semi-celebrated yesterday. Will continue this weekend. I don't think I deserve spoiling so much as perhaps a wee bit of a break. Spoiling, if a girl can get it, is bonus.

Aunty: I feel your pain. I can't get on Serendipity for some reason, either. It was working just fine for me and now it's not. No word from Troll, but Buzz is buzzing around here somewhere. There's a lull, but it won't last long, I'm sure :o)

@ Aunty Belle: "an Karl scarce as gator feathers" not likely to get better any time soon. Just remember, strap enough horsepower to the back of anything, feathers or not and it'll fly. Just look at the shuttle;)

"SOME male must hold up the fellow's end of the bloggerverse" (Aunty).

Yeah, I know I'm a latecomer to this party (you southerners), but I'd rather think the reason you forgot me is that, like Muhammad Ali in his prime, I'm just so damn pretty.
