Total Ellipse of the Heart

Today is National Punctuation Day, y'all!

No, I didn't either. But I'm glad I do now. Or, should that be: No, I didn't either; but I'm glad I do now. Or, No, I didn't either, but I'm glad I do now.

Oy. Such a headache-maker, the English language.

Still, if your heart's greatest desire has always been to understand the ins and outs of serial commas, brackets, colons, commas, dashes-versus-hyphens, and the apostrophe, log on to this fun site.

Then go forth . . . and vow never to use . . . an ellipse improperly again.

Geez, who has time to pay attention to all that punctuation nonsense? No one really cares anymore, do they? I'd hate to think of anyone having to bother with such minuscule crap every day of their lives.

I think texting is really putting a hurting on punctuation. And I like using the ellipse becuase it may make people conclude that I'm smarter than I am, but then again...

Heh-heh to Czar.

Ever'body knows that Cracker-folks can use ellipses....and, for that matter, apostrophes (an' parentheses) an' dashes--think Italians usin' they hands-- at will, or else how would we write?

Czar: Seriously, right? These kinds of people should really switch to something useful like law or politics.

Buzz: I myself favor "quote" marks to assert my "superior" intelligence.

Heff: dudedon'tyouknowthefutureislowercase?

Aunty: S.B. once made me try and get through an entire conversation while sitting on my hands. So, I had to use my feet.

you need to meet my Italian bidness partner. We rarely have a good conversation over the phone.

I get why it's important to use proper punctuation and yet.... those that truly fuss over it annoy the crap outta me. Texting is killing spelling. Or is that spell check?

is anybody getting a lotta "Error 503" messages? is Blogger limping?

Boxer: I only recently started texting, and that's only because S.B. wrenched my Luddite-ed old phone from my clutches and inserted a Blackberry. But every time I text, I run out of room, because I'm actually, well, writing. And spelling.

Aunty: Blogger's about as efficient and reliable as our gooberment.
