Haiku Monday: GHOST

Lo, what spectral smudge
at midnight haunts my room? Phew!
‘tis only the dog.

For more haunting haiku, drop by here as Aunty's hosts this week.

* * *

P.S. This week's Walking Dead summary comes to you courtesy S.B.:
"This show is like a motorcycle revving it's engine in the driveway, waiting to take off."

Very nice. I think some dogs enjoy awaking humans in a frightening manner.

P.S. My sources at FoxNews tell me there's a good chance your boyfriend might get canned. I.E. "Semi-amicable parting of ways".

I think the notorious P.A.B. would be a good replacement.

Not a haint, jes' a good ole' dawg. nary a dawg I couldn't luv, til The Rottweiler in Omen--til Sparrin' tamed it.

Troll: Noooooooooooo! There goes the show . . . Well, I think 99.9 percent of the MEN living on this planet would think PAB would be a good replacement. Me, I'd push for that ex-CIA or whatever dude they have as a guest on occasion and who filled in one day last week for Andy with his charts and statistics. Funny and he's cute.

Aunty: The bigger the dog the better as far as I'm concerned, although I have over the years learned to make room in my heart for the small, yippie ones, too. They can't help it they were just bred all wrong.

I had to look at the picture twice to finally see a dog in there. I thought it was one of Edvard Munch's scream paintings. I always liked the word "spectral" too. And I have no idea who PAB is.

Is it just me, or is this haiku about canine flatulence? You know, with your synesthesia and all . . .

yes, SB, yes. they hurt walking dead. bad. WHen the only bright light is when the goodly world weary farm vet notes to (quickly im hating) Lori (a name i also despise) how we are all in over our head. whoa. theres some multi layered thud for ya. No examination of the existential horror of living dead, no true suspense, just reeling from disparate scene to scene, this show is weal weak weak. there isnt one decent person and all of them are severely one dimensional. At this point I am pro zombie. worst. writers. ever.

now. this haiku is lovely! Ive always liked the word spectral. nice work, Moi.

Princess: Meow.

Czar: That's supposed to be fwhooo, as in, okay, all's okay. How the heck else is it spelled? Sorry, I have too-much-writing brain.

Chickory: Let's take over the writing on this, shall we? I'm about done, though. Homeland. You been watching that? American Horror Story is kind of interesting, too.

I wonder how P.A.B. would spell "phew"?

Happy Haiku Monday!

ah hahaha .. the image did startle me! and then i saw the dog. what a perfect haiku to accompany the photo, but the haiku stands on it's own too.

Jon: I don't know, but I'm beginning to question how I spell it!

Foam: It's like one of those reverse images where you're either looking at a candle or the profile of two women.

First, that's a cool photo and (as always) a great Haiku.

Zombie talk - Chickie said it perfectly. I'm not a fan of violence but I did like Walking Dead for using violence as a way of illustrating a bigger picture of life/death/faith/etc. Sunday night's episode was a very long 60 minutes with not much plot. boo.

Love the visual,
Love the haiku
Don't always love the experience.

Whew.

Boxer: And so many plot HOLES! Daryl overreacting to the gal on the horse coming to fetch Lori, Lori getting pissed off at the vet (they should BE so lucky!), etc. etc.

Fishy: No, especially when it's a cold nose on a warm foot.

Czar: THAT'S it! See how fried I am?
