Just Because I Like This Song

  1. Great choice ... I've been looking for some good music lately. Thanks for sharing.

  2. How'd you embed a video? Google/YouTube flat out wasn't letting me do it for the HM posting. I wonder if it was a glitch.

    Nice song, by the way.

  3. Pam: Aimee Mann is a great singer/songwriter. I'm With Stupid is perhaps her best-known album, although the work she did for the Magnolia soundtrack gets played a lot on the radio, too.

Czar: "Nice" song? Okay, I'll take it. YouTube allows embedding on some songs/videos, not on others. It's all up to the individual who holds the copyright. Click "Share" then "Embed." If you can embed, it will give you the thing-a-ma-jig to copy/paste. If you can't, it will say, "Embedding disabled by request."

  4. @Moi: Yeah, "nice." Was I supposed to listen to the lyrics? I don't usually do that for 30 or 40 years, until I've heard a song for decades and it appears on the radio.

Case in point: After hearing Neil Diamond's "Cracklin' Rosie" at least monthly for the last, what, 40-plus years, I listened closely to the lyrics for the first time a couple of days ago. My conclusion? It's a song about a blow-up sex doll.

  5. Good afternoon Moi,

Nice tune, good lyrics a little hard to dance to. I'll give it an 8.

  6. Czar: Was I supposed to listen to the lyrics?. Hence your absolutely inexplicable love for bizarre-ass jazz.

Karl: Nope. Not danceable. But extremely singable!

  7. Words are vastly overrated, Moi. I'm presently trying to write a few hundred of them, based on research I don't have for companies I hate. Where are you when I need you?

  8. Czar: Words are everything. Without them, the center cannot hold.

  9. Words put food on the table, that's for sure.

I think a pretty good argument could be made that words are responsible for the present lack of a center in the U.S. right now. Certain kinds of words, anyway.

  10. I was distracted by the background "dancers" in this video, but liked it because you can actually hear the lyrics and it didn't make blood blow from my ears. :-)

But, your convo with Czar is equally entertaining.

  11. Czar: Well now. There's a thought. Make our politicians campaign using sign language.

Boxer: Aw, come on. It's no fun if it doesn't bleed.
