The Blog Summit Commeth

The former mining/ghost town of Madrid, New Mexico, one of the places I'll be taking the Bloggettes this weekend.

* * *

By this time tomorrow, I'll be getting ready to pick Boxer and Chickory up at Albuquerque's International Sunport (don't ask me why it's called that, it just is) to cart them up along I-40 to the backside of the Sandia Mountains. Thus will begin Day One of Blog Summit Nuevo Mexico 2011.

There will be tequila, Grey Goose, food, cake, dogs, guns, one wryly amused husband (who, thankfully, is also a gamer), heat, guns, adventure, and feathers. If your ears burn, that's a good thing. It means we're talking about you. But that's only because we like you and wish you were here, too.

Adios for now, Party People.

What's up with all those guns? Are you going to rob a donut shop?

can you add WTWA's question to our list?

too bad you don't have Top Pot, that would make it worth it.

I hope you'll find time for moments of quiet fellowship amid the frenetic activity.

You won the haiku contest. The usual decisions need to be made.

WTWA: D'oh! You caught me red handed. Expect your ears to start burning, oh, about 9am Friday morning when we hit a local Dunkin.

Boxer: We used to have someplace called the Zombie Doughnut Cafe, but I think it's out of business. So, alas, nothing like Top Pot, my Holy Grail.

Troll: Quiet fellowship is on tap for Thursday p.m. for sure. Your ears should start burning sometime late afternoon MST, after about the third shot of Cazadores.

Good afternoon Moi,

Congratulations on your haiku win!

You 3 will have a great time. Is SB the designated driver? (I hope)

You are going to teach Boxer to shoot your AR, aren't you?

"Moi and the Bloggettes" - great name for a girl group!

Tell Chick9 that eggy would love to see a little video of those mountains - especially if someone besides her is driving, for a change :)

Happy summit to all!

Karl: Actually, we can't go to the shooting range. It's closed down due to fire danger, if you can believe it. But your ears will be burning when we say the words, "fire power."

Eggy: Ooooooo, good idea! I'm driving, and don't own any chickens, so she'll be free to shoot. Your ears will be burning when I make dinner the first night.

Fun fun fun. Moi and the Blogettes take charge of New Mexico! If I can drive and take photos, I'm sure Chickie can drive and video at the same time. Agree, not difficult! I hope you fine ladies get up to all sorts of craziness and can't wait to read more about it! Hope we have baby news from OK soon!

K9: Trout has a kitty?

Pam: Your and Kym's ears will be burning long about Sunday morning when we'll be all: "isn't that baby supposed to be here by now?" (Boys, I hear, don't usually want to leave :o) )

Aunty: Uncle did it, didn't he? Y'all's ears will be burning when we pop the bag of pork rinds.

Boxer: I'm here to serve. And drive.
