I've got my backpack ready! Such a different environment from my normal path of travel. This is a trip I would love to experience. Great MM interpretation. Have an enjoyable holiday.
Thanks, y'all, but I didn't take the photos. What I meant by my tag was, I'm usually too busy to take photos (although we did take quite a few, but they're hard copy), so I nicked these off the 'net. But the Cliffs are as gorgeous as these pics.
I don't camp either. A Super 8 and bringing my own towels is roughing it to me. But I love the river trip and agree with the photos. So is it Lewis & Clark in the pics? IF so, am surprised Troll didn't pick up on it.
Sweet fancy Moses! Its the Missouri! Great pics from my home state. I will be in Ft. Benton in two weeks for the Steamboat Classic Two-man Best Ball tournament. If you ever get up that way, have a steak sandwich at the Banque Bar.
All: It was a trip through the White Cliffs S.B. and I took a couple of years ago to commemorate the 100th year anniversary of the L&C expedition. I love doing just about everything outdoors except camp fire eating (we're Jet Boilers and MREs all the way) or sleeping in a tent. I'd suck it up for a chance to float the Missouri again, though. And a stay at the Grand Union Hotel in Ft. Benton. The bar there is super duper.
Excellent pics. They look like a professional took them. Had to look up the locale.
