This is funny, I was just talking to the Mrs.'s Uncle yesterday and he just got back from this place on Saturday. He had a great time and I'm sure he saw some of these sites.
Troll: Oh, dang it. I nicked off the net and forgot to rename. Too lazy to change now. It's pretty easy, anyway.
Shamu: You don't go into the shops there, point, and purchase. The vendor scouts the streets and comes and finds YOU. Then you follow him along winding alleys back to his shop, where he serves you tea and sweets. You meet his entire family. Even the not-right second cousins. Then you drink more tea. Eat more sweets. Tell your life story. Finally, the vendor gets down to business, pulling stuff out that was made when Jesus last roamed the earth. You have to look at ALL OF IT. Then you drink another pot of tea. Then you haggle. Three hours later, though, I had my rug. Also, a bloated stomach and pissed off bladder.
Australia has an incredible affinity with Turkey through the battle fought and lost on the beaches of Gallipoli. We were led by the Brits and they lost the battle... recently commemorated on ANZAC Day.
Those Turkey beaches are often cited as the birthplace of Australia as a nation... where we won our reputation for courage, pride, resolve, respect and a fair go for others... including the Turks.
Ooooh, I want the JESUS RUG!!!! Preacher's wives ALWAYS need a good Jesus rug! We learned that in school.... Love the post!!! Don't know where it is, but do you think they serve a certain fowl there? With dressing perhaps? Would pair nicely with the tea....

Moi, you are not the only one to find apple tea to be an effective diuretic! I love Istanbul, and yep I knew I could smell the Bosphorous. I still want a yali on the river! GREAT location.
Hmmm, never considered going to Istanbul, but could put it on my list of places to visit. The church is the Sofia, right? I do know (well, know is a strong word) -- I have met a minister who does regular mission trips to Turkey with the Methodist church. Very interesting pics indeed.

my MIL's favorite thing to do was buy rugs, but your pee story is the best I've heard.
