Some great "R"s there and that second pic cracks me up. Loved the one on the sand dune too and also the little kids running along with their trainer/coach(?)
Running! Wow, sure struck a note with me. I sometimes wake up still dreaming of running. I broke my neck a few years back, smart docs did some clever reconstruction but any activity which causes compression in vertebrae is verboten. Loved them all but really appreciated the joy and the challenge of the guy balancing his backpack down the dune! Happy MM.
All: To answer Shamu's question: that's Kathrine Switzer, who was the first woman to run in what was traditionally an all-male marathon event, the Boston.

Running interferes with my cigarette smoking.
ReplyDeleteI have a question, is that one bw photo of the first time a woman tried to run the NY Marathon? Getting shoved to the side?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to do! GREAT pics. You chose some good ones. :)
ReplyDeleteHappyMonday!
As try as I may, I never end up being a good runner. Does speed walking as I flail my arms count? ;)
